Death Race

Rating: R

Stars (out of 4): **

Length: 1 hour, 44 minutes

Synopsis: Paul W.S. Anderson, director of video-game adaptations such as "Resident Evil," re-imagines this 1975 cars-and-carnage thriller as a video game come to life, with convicts (led by Jason Statham) racing and killing each other for their freedom. It's still a Z-grade B-movie, but at least it feels more like a sprint than a marathon.

Quantum Of Solace

Quantum Of Solace

The best thing about the new James Bond film "Quantum of Solace" is that it faithfully continues the character arc of Daniel Craig's new, brooding 007—a man who must deal with the consequences of his choices. While it doesn't reach the dizzying heights of "Casino Royale," it's a solid and quickly paced action film that confronts questions of loyalty. Showtimes, review and more. Watch trailer.
